NIK as NPWP, Tax Boss: No Longer Need to Memorize 2 Numbers
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The government will have a 'new weapon' next year to monitor taxpayers, whether compliant or not. The 'weapon' is the union of a NIK with a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP).
The integration of the two numbers is contained in Law Number 7 of 2021 concerning the Harmonization of Tax Regulations (HPP), which also includes other tax rule reforms.
The Director General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance, Suryo Utomo, emphasized that the unification of the two identity numbers will make it easier for DGT to monitor taxpayers. This is part of the tax administration reform.
"The use of NIK as NPWP in the future as a tool to facilitate taxpayers in order to carry out or get services from the DGT. No need to memorize two numbers, just use one NIK when transactions at DGT," he said at the KiTa State Budget press conference, Tuesday (21/12). /2021).
Dengan penyatuan ini, maka wajib pajak tak bisa lagi lari atau menghindar dari kewajiban perpajakannya. Sebab, semua transaksi yang menggunakan NIK akan langsung terdata di DJP.
Suryo menyebutkan, saat ini DJP masih dalam proses persiapan sistem administrasi penyatuan dua nomor identitas ini menjadi satu. Terutama menyiapkan teknologinya agar saat diimplementasikan berjalan baik.
"Kami sedang siapkan sistem administrasinya, karena mesti ada interfacing NPWP yang saat ini ada menjadi basis administrasi kami dengan NIK yang akan digunakan," jelasnya.
Suryo bilang sistem yang disiapkan diharapkan bisa selesai pada tahun depan. Sehingga penggunaan NIK sebagai NPWP bisa dilaksanakan di 2023.
