NPWP will be merged with NIK, when will it start
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) is still in the process of preparing the unification system for the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) and the Population Identification Number (NIK). It is not yet known when the policy will be implemented.
"We are currently preparing the administrative system," said Director General of Taxes Suryo Utomo at a press conference on our State Budget, Tuesday (12/21/2021).
This system will also be connected to the core tax, an IT system that is being developed by DGT. Thus, said Suryo, the administration prepared by the DGT will make it easier for the public.
"The use of NIK as a NPWP is a tool to facilitate taxpayers in performing services from the DGT. No need to memorize two numbers, just NIK as identity," he explained.
Previously, Suryo stated that this system would be available in 2023 at the earliest. Because this involves systems from other agencies.
