Starting January 1, 2022, here are the facts about Tax Amnesty II

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Voluntary Forgiveness Program (PPS) or tax amnesty volume II will start from January 1 to June 30, 2022.

This means that the government gives six months for tax evaders who have not reported their assets in the Tax Return (SPT) to repent.

Tax Amnesty volume II is contained in Law Number 7 of 2021 concerning Harmonization of Tax Regulations (HPP). Meanwhile, the derivative regulations of the Act have not been published until now.

The following are things about the tax amnesty volume II that you need to know:

Tax Amnesty Volume II Tarif

There are two tariff schemes set by the government.

First, for individual and corporate taxpayers who are participants of the tax amnesty volume I. This is for assets acquired until December 31, 2015 and have not been reported in the previous tax amnesty.

Final PPh rates for this first scheme are:

  • 11% for assets abroad that are not repatriated to the country.
  • 8% for overseas assets repatriated to and domestic assets.
  • 6% for repatriated overseas assets and domestic assets invested in Government Securities (SBN) and downstream Natural Resources (SDA)

Second, it applies only to individual taxpayers whose assets have not been disclosed in the 2020 tax year SPT. This applies to assets acquired in the 2016-2020 period.

The final PPh rates for this second scheme are:

  • 18% for assets abroad that are not repatriated to the country
  • 14% for repatriated overseas assets and domestic assets
  • 12% for repatriated overseas assets and domestic assets invested in Government Securities (SBN) and downstream Natural Resources (SDA) and renewable energy.
